Program of Study Renewal Process

Program Renewals

Each program of study is assessed every 4 years through ODE’s program renewal process. During the program’s renewal year, the PACTEC team will lead program teachers through a process to look at Program Continuous Improvement for the next four year cycle of the program of study (POS).  POS teachers will meet with industry professionals and reflect on future industry needs and the development of new careers for their program areas.

POS teachers will also reflect on program data, the CTE Program of Study Quality Rubric, and other resources to set goals for the program of study over the next four year cycle in several areas including: access and equity, career connected learning, work-based learning, program leadership, and staff professional development.

Regardless of a program’s expiration date at initial approval, all Statewide and Locally Developed CTE Programs of Study will renew on schedule with the statewide renewal cycle for its associated Career Cluster.
