Concentration tips
Sometimes staying focused while studying is difficult. When you experience concentration issues, you may need to try new strategies to get back on track. Continue reading for ideas on staying focused.
Study environment
- Find a quiet spot with limited distractions.
- Designate a space exclusively for studying.
- Gather all your study materials before sitting down.
- Take frequent breaks. For every 25 minutes of studying, take a five minute break.
Worry sheet
- Each time your mind wanders, write down what you think about.
- Set aside time later to review these thoughts and address them.
Reward system
- Each time you complete an assigned task, reward yourself! This could be a YouTube video, going outside, laying down for a few minutes, or playing a game on your phone.
- Make sure your rewards are proportional to the task completed.
Active studying
- Sit up straight in your chair of choice.
- Ask questions about the material you’re studying.
- Take notes on what you’re reading.
- Check your understanding of the content as you go along.
