Information for Presenters

PCC’s Online Learning staff is pleased and excited to be organizing PCC’s 2019 Online Faculty Summit (our first) and we are thankful to have all of you participating and presenting at the summit to be held on Friday, May 3rd, 2019. Below are a few things we would like to share with you all at this stage.

Online Faculty Summit Presenter Needs Form

Please fill out the online Presenter Needs Form as soon as possible. If you are presenting more than once, please fill out one form for each presentation (you only need to include your bio once).

Designing Your Slide Presentations

Online Learning expects all slide presentations to be designed for the inclusion of all participants in mind. Please send a draft of your presentation(s) via email to Rondi Schei, Accessibility Advocate by April 22, 2019. Your presentation materials will be reviewed for accessibility only and you will receive feedback via email.

Please take a look at the Quick Checklist to guide you as well. If you need help creating an inclusive slide deck, you can attend a Creating Accessible PowerPoints session or set up a one-on-one appointment with Rondi.

You may also find the resources on this Educause: Presenter Concierge webpage useful for preparing your presentation(s).

Video Captioning

All videos will need to be closed captioned. Auto-captioned videos will also need full captioning since they are not always 100% accurate. So if your video is auto-captioned or not captioned, please fill out the Summit closed captioning request form. All captioning requests need to be submitted by April 22, 2019.

Audio/Visual and Classroom Technology Needs

You will be presenting in a standard classroom with a podium. Please bring your own cables & adapters and let me know via the “Presenter Needs Form” (or by email later if something comes up) if you have any additional classroom and/or technology needs.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Michael Annus at 971-722-4276 or mannus@pcc.edu.
