Thanks to funding from the Verizon Foundation and a partnership with Hacienda Community Development Corporation, Portland Community College will soon open the doors to the refurbished Jade District Learning Center, which is located at the Southeast Campus.

The learning center used to be the campus’ STEM Center and will provide the latest technology and educational and career programming that will improve access and opportunity for low-income families and communities that traditionally don’t have access to these resources.

This year, PCC’s Office of Planning & Capital Construction updated the Jade District Learning Center with the latest technology, including 3D printers, simulation software and hardware, and enhanced virtual reality tools. At this learning center, community members and PCC students will find technology career exploration opportunities, job preparedness training and programs that promote youth employment in technology careers.
