Juried student art show looking for submissions

Get ready for the annual Sylvania Juried Student Art Exhibit from April 15 through May 14 at the campus’ Northview Gallery. Students who have created work in Painting, Sculpture, Drawing, Design, Printmaking, Photography, Ceramics, Calligraphy, Graphic Design, Architecture or Interior Design classes are eligible. Artwork that is eligible can be from any media and has been created to fulfill a PCC Sylvania Campus art class assignment between May 2009 and May 2010.

Deadline to submit is April 9.

The purpose of the PCC Sylvania Juried Student Art Exhibition is to showcase the artwork that is coming out of PCC’s art programs. The juried show is an educational opportunity for art students and a mark of prestige for students who are selected to participate. This year, artist from the Black Fish Gallery will judge the entries.

There will be a reception and awards ceremony from 3 to 5 p.m., Monday, May 10 at the gallery to honor the selected work for the show. Awards include a $50 gift card to Art Media and Marylhurst University will be selecting students for tuition waiver awards. Other awards may be announced later.
