PORTLAND, Ore. – You may have outscored the IQ test, but when it comes to your emotional intelligence, do you know how you measure up? A new non-credit class offered by Portland Community College takes a look at what it means to be emotionally smart and how developing this skill can enhance your life. What is at the core of your emotional reactions? How do you see things from someone else’s perspective? Instructor Mike Smith will offer answers to these and other questions in Utilizing Emotional Intelligence. Students will explore the components of emotional intelligence and learn how to apply new skills for self-improvement and enhanced relationships with others. The three-part class will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Jan. 25 through Feb. 8, in Room 142 at Lincoln High School, 1600 S.W. Salmon St. Cost is $49.
