PORTLAND, Ore. – What country have you always wanted to learn about? Through Portland Community College, you can travel all over the world through non-credit educational excursions. A free information session covering all upcoming trips will take place on Saturday, Jan. 10, at the PCC Central Workforce Training Center, 1626 S.E. Water Ave. Italy for Mothers, Daughters and Grandmothers: Free Info Session will take place from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in Room 304. Discover how you can experience the beauty of Italy and create your own family memories under the Tuscan sun March 20-28. See the fabulous art and architecture of Florence and Venice, savor wonderful meals and have an opportunity to take an Italian cooking class. Cost is $1,899 including airfare from PDX, accommodations and more.Paris for Mothers, Daughters and Grandmothers: Free Info Session will take place from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in Room 304. March 20-28, create wonderful memories that will last a lifetime with your mother, grandmother or daughter. Visit famous museums and sites, cruise the Seine River, enjoy French meals, shop French boutiques and experience the ambience of this most fascinating city. Cost is $1,799 including airfare from PDX, accommodations and more. Extension to the south of France, March 28 through April 3, is $850.Art and Architecture of Paris: Free Info Session will take place from 2:45 to 4:15 p.m. in Room 304. On March 20-28, learn to look, think and respond to the art and architecture of Paris. Led by artist and art teacher Kris Martens, students will visit the world’s art capital and develop a first-hand understanding of the paintings, sculpture, architecture and applied art of the city. Broaden your base of knowledge and confirm what is already familiar. Cost is $1,899 including airfare from PDX, hotel and breakfasts, half-day city tour, and Seine River cruise. Extension to the south of France, March 28-April 3, is $850.Best of Spain and Portugal: Free Info Session will take place from 2:45 to 4:15 p.m. in Room 305. This April 12-22, gain new appreciation of Spanish and Portuguese history, art and architecture from the Moors to Modern Art. Travel the charming streets and cities of Barcelona, Seville and Lisbon; experience the museums, a Flamenco evening, shopping, a hike and more. Cost is $1,999 airfare from PDX, hotel and some meals.Copper Canyon Adventure: Free Info Session will take place from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in Room 304. On May 10-18, fly to Tucson and travel on to San Carlos to begin your trip on the Sea of Cortez. Travel the famed Chihuahua-Pacifico railroad for an awe-inspiring journey through the Mexican Copper Canyon, towering 7,874 feet above sea level. Visit the small towns and indigenous peoples only reachable by rail. Cost is $1,749 including airfare from Portland, rail travel, accommodations, meals and lectures.English Garden Tour: Free Info Session will take place from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in Room 305. This July 8-17, ramble through the English Countryside as you visit some of England’s best-known gardens. From small specialty gardens to palaces, to grand manor houses with extensive landscaped gardens, you’ll soon know why the English have become so famous for their landscapes.
