Photos and Story by

BEAVERTON, Ore. – If you have ever considered a trip to Costa Rica, now is the time to learn the secrets of travel from an expert. Portland Community College will offer a non-credit class featuring tour guide and Costa Rican native, Soraya Simons.Plan Your Trip to Costa Rica explores the natural paradise of this country. Students will take in the wildlife, climate, beaches, volcanoes and jungles of Costa Rica and learn where to go and what to see. Students can plan their complete itinerary – guidebooks do not compare to the advice and insider knowledge Simons offers."Being well-informed about Costa Rica before my trip made all the difference in the world,"said Janice Dolan, PCC Community Education manager and recent traveler. "I learned later that a friend attempted to drive everywhere and saw much less than I did. This class is better than a guide book."The one-day class will take place from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, in Room A12 at Cedar Park Middle School, 11100 S.W. Parkway St. Cost is $18.For more information, contact PCC Community Education at 503-533-2921.
