Photos and Story by

The Sylvania Campus Theater Arts department at Portland Community College is proud to present its latest production, "Baby with the Bath Water." The satiric, dark comedy by Christopher Durang will run Thursday through Saturday on May 4-6 and May 11-13. All performances are at 7:30 p.m. in the Little Theatre, located on the Sylvania Campus at 12000 S.W. 49th Avenue.

"Baby with the Bath Water," manages to poke fun at everything in life. Each scene of the play introduces new and strange characters, following the baby through childhood and college. PCC speech and theater instructor Rick Mullins is directing the student actors while Daniel Hays, theater coordinator, serves as scenic designer and technical director. Margaret Hetherington is in charge of costuming a cast of 11 PCC actors who are supported by 14 technical theater students.

Ticket prices are $5 for students and seniors, and $6 for general admission. The Sylvania Campus bookstore will be selling the tickets or you can reserve seats through the Little Theatre’s box office by calling 503-977-4848. Some tickets will be sold at the door on the days of the performances based on availability. For more information, contact Sue Parks-Hilden, instructor in theater arts, at 503-977-4323 or Dan Hays at 503-977-4284.
