Internationalization – definition

A process that transforms the curriculum and the campus community by advancing intercultural competence, deepening comparative knowledge of peoples and cultures, and encouraging global learning as essential to understanding the complexity of issues in the world today.

Vision

Portland Community College will be a leader in offering learning opportunities to our diverse community in a rich international context, using an integrated approach to advance intercultural competence, a deep, comparative knowledge of peoples and cultures, and a recognition of the impact of global issues on the lives of the members of our community.

Mission

Through the Internationalization Initiative Portland Community College provides multiple opportunities and services to help all members of our college community develop the ability to communicate effectively, to understand deeply and to analyze critically their place in a complex interconnected world.
