2017-18 Profile of PCC students who transferred to 2-year institutions
PCC transfer student summary
Approximately 705 students attending PCC in 2017-18, enrolled in a 2-year institution of higher education in fall 2018.
While dozens of different colleges were transfer destinations, 60% of PCC student 2-year transfers were to in-state institutions:
- Mt. Hood Community College, 146 students, 20% of transfers
- Clackamas Community College, 112 students, 16% of transfers
- Lane Community College, 45 students, 6% of transfers
- Linn-Benton Community College, 43 students, 6% of transfers
- Chemeketa Community College, 41 students, 6% of transfers
- Central Oregon Community College, 32 students, 5% of transfers
- Columbia Gorge Community College, 10 students, 1%
Less than a tenth (7.8%) earned a PCC degree or certificate before continuing studies at a 2-year college in the fall.
The average number of credit hours earned at PCC with a grade of A, B, or C was 34 hours.
The greatest proportion of students (48%) had a “transfer intended” major when enrolled at PCC.
Compared to all credit students attending PCC in fall 2018, higher percentages of PCC student transfers to 2-year colleges were among students who were Black/African American, White/Caucasian, or Multi-racial and/or ages 20 and younger, 25 – 29, and 30 – 39.
