Resources for instructors

Interactive theater shifts students from passive observers to active participants, which is why it sticks with them so much longer.

When they have to physically step into a scenario (or observe a classmate doing so) to help a character navigate a conflict, it engages kinesthetic and emotional learning in a way a traditional lecture or textbook often cannot. It’s fantastic for building empathy and real-world problem-solving skills.

Below, you will find documents outlining what the project is all about and what your students can expect during the performance. We have also included an optional list of suggested reflection and essay questions. Please feel free to use these if you find them helpful, but there is absolutely no obligation to do so.

To help prepare your class, we generally encourage letting your students know ahead of time that the performance is interactive. We also highly recommend offering some form of extra credit for students who participate in an intervention. It can definitely be intimidating to step up on stage, so a little extra encouragement goes a long way!
