This painting is about LGBTQ+ history & resistance, how life and death aren’t super far apart in the community. The pink triangle is a symbol from the Act Up movement, taken from WW2. The collage on the bottom is all the prominent queer figures from the past. The top of the triangle is people who are currently alive and out as queer figures. The white names in between the two sections are names of transgender people who have been murdered in 2019. This painting was supposed to honor and in a way memorialize the beautiful yet unfortunate fragility, of queer life and people all around the world.
