The theme of this painting was to juxtapose realism and surrealism. These subjects represent my sister and I playfully mocking my mother’s love for orchids. For as long as I can remember, my mom has always had at least one orchid in the house. She currently has the entire window sill of her dining room filled with them. I was always impressed with her care for them since I know they are temperamental, much like her own personality.
