These prints explore the linocut printmaking process by completing one linocut print and further reducing from the original linocut. An additional monoprint process was also added to the reduced linocut print. These images reflect my feelings of sadness, shame, and anger regarding the rise of hatred towards Asians during the pandemic. Although I am a fourth generation Asian-American on my maternal side, I will never be viewed as a true "American" and wonder if the values of the Declaration of Independence and the ideas that the Statue of Liberty represent, extend to people who look like me and other marginalized groups.
