The painting shows a warm forest scene on a summer's day. There is a dirt path that starts in the foreground and swerves right before disappearing off to the left in the background. There is a shabby wire fence that follows the dirt path. There are a few dark figures of tall sparse trees in the foreground, and many of the same trees in the background. From the top right, sunlight cascades through the trees in the foreground which create beautiful long shadows in the bottom left foreground.

This is a painting of a vertical landscape that focuses on value and contrast. The scenery is a forest trail in Old Station, CA which I've visited several times. The nature is really beautiful because it is remote so I wanted to capture the patterns of the sunlight cascading through the trees. I tried giving the light a soft appearance to contrast the dark trees in order to capture the area's warmth and majesty.

A painting of the profile of two dogs. A small darkly colored Boston Terrier looks toward the viewer in the foreground while a large Yellow Labrador Retriever in the background widely smiles off to the right. They are closely laying alongside each other on a soft dog bed. The painting is a variety of bright colors. The small Boston Terrier ISpainted with shades of cold blue, black, and dark purple. The big Yellow Labrador is painted with warm yellow, light blues, and warm purples.
