Since the beginning of COVID, I've been photographing the ephemeral markers placed on the ground (generally Xs and arrows) in public spaces that are meant to keep us safe and protected. In exchange, we have lost a sense of freedom. We have handed over our ability to choose where to stand and cannot navigate through space without outside influence dictating our direction.
