Shaina Clark | “Blue the Macaw”

This drawing was for an end-of-term project to explore the use of colored pencils. I chose a photo of my close friend's macaw, Blue, and used the opportunity to make this project into a birthday present for them. I wanted to show the beauty and personality of my friend's companion, and used new techniques I had learned in class to give the portrait a richness and liveliness I had not previously been able to achieve.
