This watercolor painting was done for a collage-based project for class, in which we were meant to include one aspect of fear and one of hope. I chose an image of Orville Peck for the central figure, as he is a musician advocating for the LGBT community, surrounded by fruit trees to symbolize growth and progress. The birds surrounding the figure are shrikes, symbolizing our currently shaky and unstable environment. Overall, I wanted to focus on creating a landscape that was both lush and mysterious.
