This image was the result of approximately 15 impressions from a single block, which was slowly carved away over the course of the printmaking process. I attempted several gradient effects ("bokashi") to blend the individual layers making up the leaves and the snail's shell. The abstract collage on the right, each one unique to each print making up the edition, represents the varied flora in the snail's habitat.
