Portland Shriners Hospital: Volunteer & Learn About Risk Management at a Children’s Hospital

Posted by

Volunteer Opportunities Newsletter
The facilities department at the Portland Shriners Hospital is looking for volunteers with an interest in risk management and emergency preparedness to support our mission to provide expert orthopedic care to kids, regardless of their family’s ability to pay.

Volunteers will work with our Security and Risk Manager to support the facilities department, emergency planning, emergency drills, clerical functions, and will cover our main switchboard and Help Desk briefly during staff breaks.

Volunteers should be able to commit to a regular, weekly 3-hour morning shift on a weekday; should have excellent organizational skills; should have experience with or be willing to learn a multi-line phone system and an excellent phone manner; and should have an interest in learning more about security systems, risk management and emergency preparedness within a pediatric healthcare setting. The Portland Shriners Hospital is located in inner-southwest Portland, on Marquam Hill.
