Support our Students

Nearly all our operational expenses are paid for by students through the Student Activity Fee, so the donations we receive are used to distribute food and other essential items directly to students!  Click here to donate to our mission. 

SBNC resources for students

The Student Basic Needs Center (SBNC) team is dedicated to helping PCC students connect to basic needs resources by providing:

  • Panther Pantry food programs
    • Free food is available to help support students while on campus: Grab and Go food items, Free Food Markets, Panther Pack meal kits, and Meals in the Moment
  • Basic needs navigation support
    • Personalized assistance with SNAP and OHP applications, HOP passes, TriMet discount program, utility assistance and more! 
  • One-on-one conversations with a Peer Navigator
    • When PCC students are facing a basic needs challenge or need to figure out next steps, they can meet with a SBNC Peer Navigator to think things through, identify goals, explore strategies, and build a plan.
  • Basic needs workshops 
    • Financial wellness and budgeting, SNAP and OHP applications, navigating PCC resources, financial aid, accessing community resources, and more
  • Transportation Solutions
    • HOP passes, TriMet discounts, bike rentals, and more!
  • Student leadership development
    • Our BNSL leadership program helps student leaders build confidence and skills while making a difference on their campus and in their community
  • Social events and engagement opportunities
    • Events pull people together to build connections and friendship including working on pantry preparations, sustainability-focused crafting, and partnership events with the PCC Learning Gardens.
  • Eco Social Justice Grants
    • Supporting fresh ideas to address our community’s most pressing ecological and social justice challenges

    211info is a nationwide non profit organization that helps community members identify, navigate, and connect to local resources in the whole State of Oregon including SW Washington.
  • ODHS Self Sufficiency Programs
    Oregon’s Self-Sufficiency Programs (SSP) provide resources, like cash and food assistance, as well as targeted services to help people move out of poverty and​ toward whole well-being. ​Programs include food benefits (SNAP), cash assistance (TANF), child care assistance (ERDC), services for domestic violence survivors, resources for refugees and support for youth experiencing homelessness.
  • IRCO
    IRCO’s mission is to welcome, serve, and empower refugees, immigrants, and people across cultures and generations to reach their full potential. In addition to its other programs, IRCO offers a wide range of culturally specific and responsive housing and stabilization supports, including housing navigation and placement, case management, eviction prevention, utilities assistance, and rental assistance.
