The Rock Creek Women’s Resource Center is proud to present Transitions West, which will work with a group of women over 3 academic terms: Fall, Spring, and Winter (One class per term).
What is the Transitions Program?
Transitions West is a program designed to increase enrollment and retention specifically for Latina women transitioning to college. Transitions West is based on students’ strengths and offers a supportive community to optimize learning. This program is offered at no cost to students.
The program is specifically designed for Spanish-speaking women transitioning to college.
Our purpose is to provide information and support to help participants make new decisions, as well as to motivate them to become more self-aware, increase self-esteem, and improve their ability to cope with everyday situations.
The program is free for participants.

- Autumn 24 – CG 100 (3) From Survival to Success in School
- Winter 25 – CG 130 (2) Today’s Races
- Spring 25 – WS 101 (4) Women’s Studies
Responsibilities of the Program Participants
- Be committed to taking all 3 classes that make up the program
- Attend classes at the established times and dates
In addition to attending classes, students must
- Make an appointment with the Program Coordinator at least once per quarter
- Make an appointment with an academic advisor (Complete your GRAD Plan )
- Participate in at least one of the events organized by the Women’s Resource Center per term (program, event, workshop)
- Complete at least 10 hours of volunteer work per term at the Women’s Resource Center or other Rock Creek student centers
- Participate for at least 10 hours in events, workshops, activities, or programs sponsored by the Women’s Resource Center or other student centers at Rock Creek
- I will inform the program coordinator of any changes in my personal life that may affect my academic performance.
- If possible, participate in the Woman to Woman group meeting that meets once a month at the Women’s Resource Center

- Complete the online admissions application. (Fill out as a “per credit” student)
- Take the PCC admissions exam (to determine your academic level)
- Attend an orientation session with the program coordinator
