Details about this class

My name is Karah, and this is my seventh year teaching writing at PCC. As an instructor, I believe that writing is a skill anyone can improve with practice.

In this composition course, we'll focus on the writing process—drafting, getting feedback, and reflecting on our efforts. You'll practice writing in several different genres, and you'll also learn how to find trustworthy sources and conduct research. We'll meet for class twice per week in person, and I expect that students will attend class on campus regularly.

We'll use a contract grading system in this course, which means you won't get a letter grade or points on each individual assignment. Instead, you'll get a final letter grade based on completing a certain number of assignments throughout the quarter.

If you have any questions for me about WR 122, feel free to reach out!

Technology

You'll need some type of word processor (Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Pages, etc.) to complete your assignments.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.

Students with disabilities

Students with disabilities should notify their instructor if accommodations are needed to take this class. For information about technologies that help people with disabilities taking Online based classes please visit the Disability Services website.
