Details about this class
¡Bienvenidos a SPA 202! I look forward to meeting you! In this class we'll interact with each a other a lot, listen to music, play a couple games, reflect on culture, and LAUGH! The main emphasis of this class is speaking proficiency.
Please don't hesitate to email me with your questions: sarah.bentley@pcc.edu
NOTE: There is also a conversation practice class the corresponds to this class: SPA 212c! Please note that students are highly recommended to take SPA 202 and SPA 212C simultaneously.
SPA 212C is a one-credit conversation course that meets twice a week for 25 minutes (50 min/week). The conversation class meets right before your 202 class, and it’s taught by the same instructor.
Why should I take SPA 212C? In the conversation class, you will have an opportunity to practice what you are learning in SPA 202. You will be working on your listening and speaking skills with classmates, with your instructor’s guidance and support. Students who don’t take 212C will have 10 hours less of practice of the Spanish language than the classmates who take 212C. 202 + 212C is the perfect combination to develop your communicative skills (aural and oral), and communication is the main goal of our SPA program.
Technology
Our textbook includes access to the online platform where you will complete all homework assignments. If you purchase the textbook used, please note that you will then need to purchase a $173 access code to the online platform here: https://vistahigherlearning.com/store/panorama-6th-edition.html
If you purchase the textbook new at the PCC bookstore, it already comes packaged with the access code.
This book and code is used for three courses: SPA 201, 202, and 203 (no additional materials required)
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
