Details about this class

This course is a culmination of all that you have learned in the paralegal program. We review many of the skills and knowledge you have already learned, as well as previewing some elements you may not have been exposed to. We bring in guest speakers to help bring the text to life and to get you excited about the next phase in your paralegal journey.

Be aware that the Porfolio and Capstone are required elements of the class. Failure to complete either portion may result in a failing grade. Attendance and participation are also mandatory pursuant to the guidelines outlined in the course syllabus. Failure to attend class or participate may result in a failing grade.

Technology

In addition to the text, guest speakers, supplemental readings, quizzes, and hands-on projects are utilized simulating real world practice. We also use a practical platform called Clio to track and enter time and use of elements of AI and a platform called Quizlet to help practice and prepare for quizzes.

Finally, students will also create a Portfolio containing existing work samples from prior class submissions, and newly created content for use in supporting their Capstone interview (with legal professional volunteers).

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.

Students with disabilities
