Dscvr Healthcare 1 Day: PCC
This highly specialized one day class focuses on delivering essential information to people interested in training opportunities to further their careers in healthcare, including training opportunities at the intersection of healthcare and social services industry. Each class features specific training programs at PCC such as Medical Assisting, Nursing Assisting, Emergency Medical Services, Eye Tech, and entry level programs at the Institute for Healthcare Professionals, etc. In this class students learn about the healthcare industry in Oregon, hear from PCC staff so that they can make informed decisions about their careers and educational goals, and receive support enrolling at PCC as a credit/non-credit student. Participants gain knowledge about targeted program tracks, build skills through hands-on activities for success in the classroom and workplace, and learn how to access PCC and community resources.
No prerequisites are required. Students should be interested in pursuing education, whether working towards a GED, ESOL proficiency, or a credit or non-credit training program. It is also recommended that students have basic English skills to comprehend verbal and written classroom content and computer skills proficient for navigating web pages and completing forms.
