Details about this class

This class will be organized as "flipped class."  In a flipped class, the traditional activities that occur during class meetings vs. outside of class meetings are "flipped" so students watch videos and study the textbook or other "lecture notes" outside of class and, during class, students work on practice problems, something that traditionally would have taken place at home as "homework."

Students will be given access to videos of  "lectures" that show the completion of class notes: students will be expected watch/study the videos of class notes in advance of our class meetings each week.

During our class meetings, the instructor will answer questions about the content students watched/studied before class and give a short presentation to emphasize important details or show a relevant example.  Then students will form small groups and work on problems from the MTH 251 Lab Manual.

The MTH 251 Lab Manual is available for purchase in printed format at the Bookstore; you can also access it online for free.

If you have any questions, please email me at phaberma@pcc.edu.

Technology

Although we'll be meeting in-person, I'll ask that the weekly Graded Lab Assignments are submitted in D2L as PDF documents. This will require that you scan your completed assignments and save them as PDFs. If you don't have access to a proper scanner, you can use a free app for your smart phone that can convert photos of your completed assignments into PDFs.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.

Students with disabilities

Students with disabilities should notify their instructor if accommodations are needed to take this class. For information about technologies that help people with disabilities taking Online based classes please visit the Disability Services website.
