Details about this class
Hi and thanks for checking this page! This is an in-person class that meets twice a week on the SE campus.
Note: All math and statistics classes have returned to proctored testing. This class will have a midterm and a final during our scheduled class time on campus.
Please look for the course notes packet at the bookstore. I will also send you the PDF if you prefer to print it yourself.
This class will be flipped. That means you'll watch the lecture on video and fill in the notes pages before class (except on the first day). That will give us time for practice activities during class and you may have a little homework time. You will also have time to work on your project during class. The class will be held in a computer lab so we can help everyone with the free online stats calculators.
My goal is to make statistics fun, relevant and meaningful. There are written and online assignments every week, a midterm, a project and a final.
The book is free online and all the apps we use are free. We will look at a variety of topics through the data sets in the course. You can get a feel for my style of teaching through videos, old syllabi and previous course materials at https://www.caraleemath.com/. Feel free to email me with any questions at cara.lee@pcc.edu.
Technology
Our class will be held in a computer lab on campus. I will show you how to use free online stats calculators. You will need access to a computer and internet for the online homework and to upload assignments.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
Students with disabilities
Students with disabilities should notify their instructor if accommodations are needed to take this class. For information about technologies that help people with disabilities taking Online based classes please visit the Disability Services website.
