Details about this class
In this course we will dive into the awesome topic of Digital Video Editing. Students will learn foundation video editing skills in a variety of topics, including Continuity, Dialogue, and Montage editing. Video footage will be provided for class assignments. Students will have the option of filming (or providing footage) for their Final project.
Tuesday's section is our primary lecture class day. Thursdays will be our lab time. (Some Thursday lab days will be optional).
Attendance at scheduled class sessions is required.
Technology
This course and instruction will be conducted in person. Class meets at Cascade Campus, MAHB 219.
We will be meeting for two 2-hour sessions per week for 11 weeks.
Students who do not attend or notify me in Week 1 will be submitted as ‘No Show’ in Week 2.
If editing at home, check the Multimedia Technology specifications page for computer recommendations. Chromebooks or tablets are not recommended.
Required:
- Regular access to a computer, Mac or PC, that can run Adobe 'Premiere Pro' - System requirements for Adobe Premiere Pro
- PCC offers student licenses for the Adobe CC Suite. Please watch your PCC email in the week prior to course start for information about how to access it.
- This class will use PCC's student account of 'Google Drive for Desktop' (this will be set up in Class)
- Recommended: an external hard drive 500+ Gigs
- Use of Apple Cloud Desktop or other cloud storage is not recommended for working with digital media files. Such software automatically moves large files from your hard drive to iCloud, and deletes the local copy. You must have sufficient local storage to work on digital media files.

No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
