Details about this class

Thank you for your interest in ESR 201:Applied Environmental Studies: Science and Policy

My name is Dr. Val Brenneis and I look forward to being your instructor for this course on environmental law and policy.

This class meets in-person at the Rock Creek campus on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 - 11:50 am. Class time will include lectures,  group work, discussions, case studies, presentations, and exams. Attendance is required. When possible, a Zoom session will available so that students can attend or view recording if they are sick or have another emergency. If inclement weather closes campus or makes it hard to get to school, Zoom class options will be provided.

Technology

Access to a computer with an internet connection and Zoom is recommended.

We will be using the Google suite (Docs, Slides) which is available to all students through their PCC email account.

We will be using the Microsoft Office suite for many assignments (Word, Powerpoint). PCC students can access the software for free here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/education/products/office

In addition, we will be using web-based software, specifically ArcGIS online, which is available to all PCC students at no cost and will all be demonstrated in class.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
