Details about this class

Hello!

This class meets In Person at Cascade Campus.  We use an OER textbook (Open Educational Resource), which means it is online and free to you.  In the class we cover many areas of Public Speaking and mostly have fun while doing so.

WR 121 is a prerequisite for the class because we build upon your research and organizational skills when creating the research based speeches- the Informative speech and the Persuasive speech.  We will also cover Storytelling and Commemorative speaking.

There are weekly Online Discussions due and short Reading Reflections due almost every week.  We spend time in class working on Outlines, Manuscripts, and other speech materials, and sometimes we complete part of the Online Discussions.

This is a class that requires time outside of class to Practice Practice Practice.  So make sure you can set aside weekly time for Preparation and Practice Practice Practice.  Effective practice is vital to your success as a speaker.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at kathleen.doss@pcc.edu.
