Details about this class

Welcome to Chem 124Z! This class is the lab component of CH 104Z. Students must be enrolled in both CH 104Z and 124Z unless they have previously taken and passed one of these.

The course will be delivered in person on campus at the Cascade Campus in North Portland.  Students will need to attend the lab section. There are no remote labs for this course.  One lab out of nine or ten total will be dropped to account for emergency absences.  Students will work with one partner during the lab.

Students will be expected to attend the full 2 hours and 50 min of the lab period, including the first week. Students may not leave lab early and finish the lab at home. All work must be completed in the lab unless time becomes a limitation. Then the instructor will tell you how to complete your post lab.  Each week's content will be contained within a separate module that includes: a prelab and a post lab assignment each week. The content in the lab will include concepts from the lecture course. The instructor will hold both zoom office hours and in person office hours during the week to support students.

The lab manual will be provided on D2L.  Students can turn in the post lab reports by printing them or turning them in electronically each week. We will be working in groups to complete activities during class. Active participation during class will be expected.

Technology

The course will be using an lab manual that is available on D2L.  No purchase of this is necessary.   An internet connection and computer will be required.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
