Details about this class
Thank you for considering this course!
Both the lab and lecture for this course are in-person at the Cascade Campus. We will meet in-person on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 am-10:50 am (lecture) and on Mondays from 12:00 noon -2:50 pm (lab). You need to be able to attend both lecture and laboratory components in order to register for the course.
Lecture and lab sessions will be interactive and designed to help learning and measure understanding. This information will be used to guide the speed of content and delivery methods. Therefore, student participation will be key to instruction. Because lecture and lab sessions are in person, there will not be zoom recordings of the classes. Lecture slides will be posted on the class website in D2L.
This class will include completing in-class group problem-solving activities, hands-on laboratory experiments, homework assignments, weekly quizzes, mid-term exams and a final exam. Office hours will be available in person, and in Zoom.
Students do not need to purchase a textbook or online homework system. These will be freely provided. Students are not required to purchase a lab manual from the bookstore as this will be provided within D2L.
Students will be required to purchase a workbook either from the bookstore or directly from the publisher. More information on this will be provided in the course syllabus.
I will contact enrolled students by email near the beginning of the term with more information on the course. You may contact me at elizabeth.ntantie@pcc.edu for more information. I look forward to working with you to build a strong chemistry foundation!
Technology
Since the class content will be delivered via D2L and online homework is required, an internet connection is required. A webcam is not required.
Homework will be completed using WebWork at no cost to students. An OER online textbook will be used for this course. Students will require a computer and internet connection to access both WebWork and the OER e-text.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
Students with disabilities
