Details about this class
This class will expect, but not require, that you are available during the scheduled class period. Questions regarding the material will be taken during the scheduled time. Lectures will be recorded and posted to the course D2L site. The class will be a mixture of synchronous and asynchronous instruction. There is one day of mandatory attendance: the first day.
The class is highly lecture-based, with demonstrations of sample problems. Every class is recorded, but live attendance is encouraged to facilitate discussion and small-group work that solidifies concepts.
Homework is required. You will need the current edition of the text to ensure you are doing the correct homework problems.
There are NO EXAMS, but there are TWO TERM PROJECTS that build of each other. There are also weekly quizzes that are part of your assessment.
Advice: To prepare for this class, it is imperative that you have a good grasp of statics, vectors, and refresh yourself on basic differential and integration concepts from Calculus.
If you have any questions, please contact the Instructor, William "Ike" Eisenhauer (william.eisenhauer@pcc.edu). Thank you.
Technology
- D2L will be used as the course website. Students need a computer and internet access.
- Students will need technology, such as CamScanner on a phone or a scanner, for example, to take a photo or scan a sheet and upload it as a *.pdf file to D2L.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
