Details about this class
¡Bienvenidos a SPA 203! This is the last class of the second-year Spanish sequence at PCC. The emphasis of this class is speaking proficiency along with reading and writing practice in Spanish. We will read and reflect on culture, play games to practice advanced grammatical structures, listen to music, and continue to grow our knowledge about the Spanish-speaking world.
NOTE: There is also a conversation practice class the corresponds to this class: SPA 213c! Please note that students are highly recommended to take SPA 203 and SPA 213C simultaneously.
SPA 213C is a one-credit conversation course that meets twice a week for 25 minutes (50 min/week). The conversation class meets right before your 203 class, and it’s taught by the same instructor.
Why should I take SPA 213C? In the conversation class, you will have an opportunity to practice what you are learning in SPA 203. You will be working on your listening and speaking skills with classmates, with your instructor’s guidance and support. Students who don’t take 213C will have 10 hours less of practice of the Spanish language than the classmates who take 213C. 203 + 213C is the perfect combination to develop your communicative skills (aural and oral), and communication is the main goal of our SPA program.
Technology
This class is a remote class that meets twice a week over Zoom. You must have a quiet working space with stable Internet connection where you can engage and participate in the class effectively. You must also have a computer with a working webcam and microphone in order to productively interact with your classmates.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
Students with disabilities
Students with disabilities should notify their instructor if accommodations are needed to take this class. For information about technologies that help people with disabilities taking Online based classes please visit the Disability Services website.
