This class will invite students into a deep conversation about the ecological crisis we are currently living through. We will try to understand some of the root causes of the crisis, including the economic system, colonial history and cultural beliefs. We'll also take a local perspective, reflecting on this place and its histories and possible futures.
Participating in this class will involve:
- weekly reading assignments
- one weekly class meeting
- essay writing
- field trips
There will be no exams in class. And students will participate in determining their own grades based on a participatory grading process.
