Details about this class
This is a really interesting and fun class and I look forward to meeting you all! We will learn a range of information in this course including intelligence, language development, motivation and emotions, stress, personality, psychological disorders and their treatments and more! This class will be fully IN-PERSON! We will utilize our class time differently depending on the week, but some of the things that will be included will be lecture, small group breakout activities, Q & A sessions, and deeper explanation on assignments. Aside from that time, you can expect to have regular assignments and quizzes each week.
Attendance is expected but absences are not penalized. We will be using Lumen Waymaker "Introduction to Psychology" as our textbook, and this is pre-loaded in our D2L course shell, so there is nothing additional you need to do. This resource is listed as $33 on the bookstore site, and is automatically included in your registration fee for the course -- nothing more to purchase! The level of communication is high; I send out regular reminders/updates, and I respond to student emails 7 days a week. As long as you stay connected and keep up, you'll do great!
Take a look at a syllabus from a previous term and please feel free to reach if you have questions! Best, Shawna |
