Details about this class
This course is intended to introduce students to the basic actors, ideas, and institutions of United States government and politics. In order to do so, we will explore some of the main debates which have animated American political history, such as the proper role of the federal government, the rights of citizens, and the separation of powers. We will see throughout this course that while operating under essentially the same political institutions, the United States has experienced significant political transformation. The United States, then, is a place of great stability on one hand and great change on the other.
Technology
There is no additional technology required for this class.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
