Details about this class

This course will be focused on working with Older Adults in health, fitness and wellness.  You will learn how to teach certain classes for older adults, gain experience with fitness assessments for older adults and participate in a variety of field trips to Older Adult Community centers, Older Adult Exercise classes and facilities and visit various living communities for Older Adults. You will need transportation to attend the visitations and field trips. An outline on the first day of class will list the days/times that we will be off campus. Our regularly scheduled class will meet at Sylvania campus HT 128,129 & HT 131 on Mondays & Wednesday at 11:00AM-12:50PM.  There is one required textbook and one suggested textbook that can be purchased at the SY Bookstore. You will need to come dressed to exercise on each day of class. You will be doing a final project which will be working with an older adult - doing a series of assessments appropriate for your chosen client (real person) and then prescribing a four week exercise plan for this person.
