Details about this class
Portland is surrounded by beautiful areas to explore! In the Beginning Hiking course we will hike urban and mountain trails ranging from 3-7 miles at varied elevations.
Learn the principles of "leave no trace", hiking basics, and preparedness. We will also explore the mental health benefits of outdoor fitness.
Students must have transportation to trailheads (carpooling is encouraged). There may be parking and other toll fees on hike days.
Attendance of safety lecture on first day is required to stay enrolled in the class!
