Details about this class
The Jazz Ensemble, Woitach led, plays multiple styles of jazz music and pop music we arrange for a jazz group. We work from lead sheets of the tunes, and arrange them throughout the term. For example, in Winter 2024 we played some blues, some bossa nova, some swing, and a medley of Time After Time (Cyndi Lauper) and the theme to Star Trek - the sky's the limit here!
I ask that you all show up at 10 am on Fridays, and practice your music outside of class. We have a fun ensemble that works hard and laughs while we do it!

Technology
Please bring your instrument, and any sheet music we hand out in class.
We have some amplification, but if you have a small amp, it's always preferred that you bring it to class.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
