Details about this class
This is an on-campus, in-person class. Attendance at Southeast Campus will be expected every Monday and Wednesday from 2 - 4:20. Each class will include significant time for group work and interactive collaboration. Active participation will be encouraged from all students.
Math 58 and Math 98 is a two term sequence of introductory statistics and data presentation that use the same textbook, Pathways to Math Literacy, Soberki and Mercer, 2nd edition. This a workbook that contains many of our homework assignments.
If you have taken Math 58, we will be using the same textbook and online homework system in Math 98 that you used in Math 58, so you do not need to purchase anything.
If you placed directly into Math 98 and did not take Math 58, you will need to purchase a NEW textbook with an ALEX CODE from the bookstore. You may NOT use an e-book, used book, borrowed book or rented book. They do not come with the code for the online homework system which is required to pass this course.
We will use three free online programs to help with many assignments: Google Sheets, Desmos and Geogebra.
