Details about this class

Requirement: This section is for students placing into MTH 58/60 (below MTH 105). You must also register for the corequisite support class: CRN 25933

Thank you for your interest in Math 105! This section is specifically for students who do not meet the usual MTH 105 prerequisites and are needing some additional support. Please check with your advisor if this is the right fit for you and your educational goals!

This course has 4 main units: proportions and problem solving, finances, statistics, and probability. As much as possible, we will learn about these topics in real world contexts. A considerable part of our class time will be spent actively working on problems, so regular attendance and preparation are key to your success in this class :)

Technology

We will be using spreadsheets in this class. I will primarily be using google sheets in my demonstrations.

We will also be using an online statistics application Stapplet.

You will also be expected to scan written work into a single pdf document. This can be done either with a scanner, a scanner app on your phone, or you can create a pdf from pictures of your work.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.

Students with disabilities

Students with disabilities should notify their instructor if accommodations are needed to take this class. For information about technologies that help people with disabilities taking Online based classes please visit the Disability Services website.
