Details about this class

I'm excited you are considering my course. It is a Pass/No Pass course and it is designed to support you in one or more of the following ways:

  • Prepare for a math class you want/need to take in the future.
  • Prepare for a math placement test.
  • Reinforce or increase your current math skills.

During class sessions you will be:

  • Working in our online learning platform, ALEKS. This technology will identify and help you fill in your math gaps.
  • Participating in individual student/instructor meetings where we can touch base and where I will work to support your current math learning, course, and/or your future math path. 
  • Participating in additional class work as assigned. This may include lectures, group work, individual practice, visits to campus resources, etc.
  • Tracking and updating your progress during each class session.

Here is a sample syllabus for you to take a look at. This syllabus isn't specific to our course, but this will give you an idea of how the lab operates. Sample ALC/ALM Syllabus 

Registered students will get an email from me prior to the start of the term with more clear course information. Keep an eye on your email for this important communication.

Technology

Students will need to be able to access their MyPCC email from our classroom computers, (know your passwords).

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
