Details about this class

This class introduces the practice of sound editing and mixing for film and video. We'll explore multiple methods and workflows including dialogue editing for clarity, sound effect editing, foley recording, re-recording mix, and deliverables.

You can find a copy of a past syllabus for this course here. The syllabus for the Spring term will change slightly but the old syllabus will give you a good idea of what to expect.

Prerequisites: MM129, MM 235 or instructor permission. Audit available.

Technology

Students will use wither Avid Pro Tools or Adobe Audition software to edit audio in this class. Adobe Audition is available for free to multimedia students through Adobe's Creative Cloud and Avid Pro Tools is available on all of the computers in MAHB Room 215.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
