Week 1
Theme: Welcome to this class and to the PCC Library
In-Class Activities: The course syllabus and logistics, Introduction to PCC Library website & services.
Week 2
Theme: The PCC Library catalog
In-Class Activities: Practice using the library website to find books and videos.
Week 3
Theme: What is discovery? Databases vs algorithms
In-Class Activities: Practice using a library databases to find useful information. Compare a database to a web search engine.
Week 4
Theme: More about Library databases
In-Class Activities: Compare library databases; practice note taking and keeping track of information using Google Drive
Week 5
Theme: PCC Library Research Guides
In-Class Activities: Explore PCC research guides, share one guide with the class.
Week 6
Theme: Key Word Searches and Introduction to the final Project
In-Class Activities: Work on brainstorming Key words together, and learning the difference between database and internet searches
Week 7
Theme: Final project work
In-Class Activities: Work on searches and finding sources for the final project
Week 8
Theme: Sharing and reflection
In-Class Activities: Share your final project. Reflect on what you experienced and learned in LIB 100.
