Details about this class

Welcome to JPN 260A Japanese Culture (CRN 25186)

In this course, we will explore various aspects of Japanese culture through the subtheme of "food."

We have face to face class meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30pm - 4:50pm. You can access our course site and materials by going through D2L Brightspace - the learning platform that all courses use at PCC. At these meetings there will be whole class discussion, as well as a lot of small group discussion. All activities, materials and discussion will be in English. We will also watch two films in class. You will engage in discussions and write reflection papers based on the films.

In addition to our class meetings, you will also have work that you will complete on your own time, like readings, videos, discussions, projects and quizzes. We will be using free materials and no textbook is required. I will also offer office hours where we can meet one-on-one to help you and answer your questions.

Feel free to contact me via email if you have any questions about the course (nao.okumura@pcc.edu)[opens in new window]).

I am excited to work with you this spring!

Nao Okumura (she/her)
