This course is a bit different from the other BIT classes. The process of registering for the cooperative work experience (CWE) is as follows:

During our meeting, be prepared to provide me with information including your G number, what area you live in (so I can find you an opportunity as close to home as possible), what term you are considering and what your schedule will look like to work with a jurisdiction.

I ask that you do not contact jurisdictions directly! There are only so many cities and counties, and I try not to overburden any Building Official with too many requests. Ideally, we will start the process approximately six weeks before the start of the term, so keep that in mind when you are ready to do your CWE. If you are looking for full time (300 hours) with a jurisdiction, please contact me as early as possible before the start of the term. 

The CWE is a lot of fun! It is your opportunity to put a human face on the industry and really get a feel for what the job is like, so make the most of it!
