Details about this class
Hi students!
This is a fully INPERSON (scheduled meetings) course with required meeting times on Tuesdays from 1-350pm on Sylvania campus (SS Bldg, Rm 112). Students should be ready to come to campus to engage with the content and each other each week of the spring term. The content in this course is so relevant and important to our day to day lives and I really believe in your successful engagement with the information.
This course operates in a weekly format with structured content. Assessments in the course include weekly participation points, in-class quizzes and there are 3 assignments in the course. Student assignments will ask you to engage with the content, apply concepts from the course, and reflect on the experience.
I will have office hours available to meet with students as desired (online and in-person on Tuesdays) and am typically available via email M-F. Should you register for this section of HE 250, you can typically expect to receive an email and a syllabus from me in the couple of days before the term will begin.
There is NO textbook for this course. In place of a textbook, content for this class is via a variety of linked resources found in the module objectives each week within our D2L shell. We will review some of the content IN class and students will be responsible for covering the additional content outside of class (as if they were reviewing a textbook).
Please email me if you have any questions or concerns!
Technology
Basic web applications/viewing technology needed. Most assignments use Google doc templates. Students should be able to engage with outside services like youtube or podcasts.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
Students with disabilities
Students with disabilities should notify their instructor if accommodations are needed to take this class. For information about technologies that help people with disabilities taking Online based classes please visit the Disability Services website.
